What are WPCs for?

1 Water Positive Credit (WPC) represents the positive impact on water achieved through projects that help preserve and restore water resources and the environment. One WPC equals 1,000 m³ of saved water footprint, including the environmental and social benefits of water footprint compensation projects.

According to the Act4water standard, each project earns a certain number of WPCs. Each WPC is priced based on the investment needed to carry out and maintain the project, which creates both environmental and social benefits.

Organizations looking to offset their water impact can buy WPCs, which helps fund projects that benefit the basin and reduce risks for all users.
