Semarang non-revenue water reduction

Semarang non-revenue water reduction project
Semarang, a city of 1.7 million inhabitants in North Central Java, Indonesia, faces significant water losses due to physical and commercial inefficiencies in its distribution system. Through strategic infrastructure rehabilitation, active leak detection, and operational optimizations, NRW levels were successfully reduced from 39% to 29%.

CAPs (Credits Aqua Positive), also known as water credits, are a unit that measures the positive impact of projects on water resources.

1 CAP = 1,000 m³ of water footprint saved

CAP eq, or CAP equivalents, are calculated using the ISO 14046 methodology, which adjusts the value of CAPs by considering water stress in the region.
