Act4Water was born from a clear vision: to go beyond measuring water impact and transform the way we understand and address our impact on water resources. From the outset, Act4Water has been conceived as a collaborative project, open to different disciplines and areas of knowledge, in order to respond to the challenges of sustainable water management.
Our work takes shape in the Act4Water Standard and the Water Credits or Credits Aqua Positive (CAPs), a common scientific framework for turning a commitment to water into certified positive impact.
Act4Water was conceived as a collaborative project in which multidisciplinary experts joined from the very beginning to co-create the Standard. Narciso Berberana led the transformation of the water footprint into a climate adaptation indicator capable of financing environmental projects with positive impact. His sustainability team at Veolia and Cetaqua (Water Technology Centre) took up the initial momentum of the initiative, channelling years of experience in corporate water footprint management into a collaborative and innovative model for water resilience. That collaborative spirit remains today: Act4Water continues to evolve thanks to an open community of specialists who constantly bring new perspectives.
