Environmental adaptation in a section of the Llobregat River

Encouraging managed recharge by directing river water into a diversion channel that infiltrates into the aquifer through basins. This aims to improve both the quantitative and chemical status of the aquifer and ensure water supply for various uses, especially during drought periods. This project is part of the European AQUIFER INTERREG SUDOE project and has been approved by the Catalan Water Agency.

CAPs (Credits Aqua Positive), also known as water credits, are a unit that measures the positive impact of projects on water resources.

1 CAP = 1,000 m³ of water footprint saved

CAP eq, or CAP equivalents, are calculated using the ISO 14046 methodology, which adjusts the value of CAPs by considering water stress in the region.
